WHAT?
An advanced study group of EMDR Therapists seeking to increase their skills and knowledge in working with complex trauma and dissociation in a mutually supportive and challenging environment. This facilitated process will begin as a book study group with EMDR and Dissociation: The Progressive Approach by Anabel Gonzalez and Dolores Mosquera as the text. We will seek to integrate advanced AIP case conceptualization with attachment theory and the theory of structural dissociation.
Participants will receive the benefit of two consultants, Bill Brislin and Reg Morrow Robinson, a strengthening of their peer network of therapists working with complex cases, didactic and experiential exercises at each meeting with an opportunity to practice techniques, and an opportunity to integrate theory and methodology into current and future cases.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION
This is a closed group for a minimum of six to a maximum of eight EMDR Therapists, plus two facilitators. The group members will have completed basic EMDR training and currently be treating clients. Prior training in dissociation is not required. Members are committed to attending ten meetings, studying required text, using an online reading blog, and presenting cases.
